On November 21, 2025, at the 12th China Modern Agriculture Development Forum, the “2025 Major New Technologies, New Products and New Scenarios in Chinese Agriculture” list was announced. Under the guidance of the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and organized and selected by the Chinese Society of Agricultural Sciences, the microbial agent “Nitrogen More” developed by Shandong Bilan Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Baolai Lailai Technology Group) stood out from 516 achievements that passed the first round of review nationwide, becoming the only product from the soil and fertilizer field among the 38 major new products selected, marking a major breakthrough in my country’s bio-fertilizer technology field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This selection focused on the “four orientations” requirements. After rounds of review by over 100 academicians, including preliminary selection, re-selection, and final selection, 95 achievements were ultimately selected (including 37 new technologies, 38 new products, and 20 new application scenarios). “Nitrogen Plus,” as the sole representative of new products in the fields of arable land protection and plant protection in the soil and fertilizer sector, was selected not only as a high recognition of its triple value of “reducing reliance on chemical fertilizers, ensuring food security, and improving soil ecology,” but also as a reflection of the country’s urgent need and strategic layout for key technologies for the green transformation of agriculture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technological Breakthrough: Microbial Dual-Core Technology Defines a New Path to Green Yield Increase<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The microbial agent “Nitrogen Plus” is a biological fertilizer-saving and efficiency-enhancing product that integrates the internationally leading “biological nitrogen fixation + biological urease inhibition” technology system. It has 9 independent intellectual property rights and provides key technical support for achieving “soil improvement, fertilizer reduction, quality improvement and efficiency enhancement”. It is an innovative model for promoting the sustainable development of green agriculture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This product consists of a functional microbial community primarily composed of highly efficient nitrogen-fixing bacteria, combined with a bio-based urease inhibitor. Through the synergistic effect of nitrogen-fixing bacteria and phosphorus-solubilizing, potassium-solubilizing, biocontrol-enhancing, and stress-resistance-promoting functional microbial communities, combined with bio-based targeted urease inhibition technology, it achieves multiple benefits including soil improvement, fertilizer conservation, increased yield, and enhanced quality. Trials were conducted on over 200,000 mu (approximately 13,333 hectares) of important crops such as soybeans, rice, corn, and potatoes in different regions including Xing’an League, Northeast China, and Shandong. Data shows that it can replace 30%-40% of chemical nitrogen fertilizer, increasing crop yield by an average of 10%-20%, while significantly improving soil fertility, enhancing the soil ecological environment, reducing soil compaction rate and the incidence of soil-borne diseases. It achieves the dual goals of “reducing fertilizer use without reducing yield, and improving quality and efficiency,” providing a replicable technical path for reducing fertilizer use and increasing efficiency, and achieving agricultural carbon neutrality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strategic significance: Reshaping the agricultural input industry landscape<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Against the backdrop of global fertilizer price fluctuations and my country’s “dual carbon” goals, the promotion and application of “Nitrogen Plus” is of milestone significance: for farmers, it saves fertilizer costs and helps reduce costs and increase income; for the industry, it promotes the transformation of the fertilizer industry from “chemical-driven” to “biological-driven” and gives rise to a new track of green inputs; for the ecology, it reduces nitrogen fertilizer application, significantly reduces agricultural non-point source pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, and is in line with policy guidance such as the “Implementation Plan for Emission Reduction and Carbon Sequestration in Agriculture and Rural Areas”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Future Vision: Drawing a Blueprint for the Sustainable Development of Microbial Technology<\/p>\n\n\n\n
